Dr. Dana Barowsky

Dr. Dana Barowsky is a licensed psychologist with over 15 years of professional experience in the fields of clinical and neuropsychology.  She currently operates a private practice in Northern New Jersey, where she offers comprehensive evaluations, consultation, and therapeutic interventions to a diverse clientele. Before establishing her practice, Dr. Barowsky served as a School Psychologist at an Independent School in New York City.

Dr. Barowsky earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and earned a doctoral degree in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Pace University. Throughout her extensive training, Dr. Barowsky has worked with a broad spectrum of age groups, from children to adults, in various settings such as schools, outpatient mental health centers, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, followed by a two-year fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychological Assessment at Lenox Hill Hospital's Center for Attention and Learning. Her past affiliations also include the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Jacobi Medical Center, and the Westchester Public School System.

Among colleagues and clients, Dr. Barowsky is valued for her warm, friendly and accessible demeanor, coupled with her nonjudgmental approach to understanding human behavior and relationships. She places great emphasis on the psychologist-client relationship as a cornerstone of effective evaluation and treatment. Her collaborative approach helps clients identify their strengths, challenges, thought patterns and behaviors, to help pave the way toward meaningful personal growth.
